Description
Audit reconsideration: another bite at the apple? No, in general, audit reconsideration is available when you missed the opportunity to take the bite the first time around. When we think of an audit reconsideration, we generally think that there has already been an audit; although, that is not the only time we may want to consider this path. Audit reconsiderations are also useful for those clients that may be forgetful and do not file for a few years, because the IRS has IRC §6020(b) in their arsenal, which allows them to file a return on behalf of the taxpayer. Over the course of this session, we will review why there is a need for audit reconsideration and how to properly prepare an audit reconsideration to get the best results for our clients.
