The Tricycle Rides Again: Decorating Contest a Success!

Creativity was abundantly displayed at the second annual Tricycle Decorating and Fundraising Contest, where CSEA Members had tons of fun as they teamed up to compete for first place. CSEA purchased the tricycles, and contestants brought their own decorations, imagination and original themes to transform the tricycles into works of art!

The following teams participated:

  • Big Valley and Friends
  • CSEA Education Foundation
  • CSEA Education Foundation Scholarship Committee
  • North Bay Chapter – 2nd Place Winner
  • Orange County Chapter – 3rd Place Winner
  • Sacramento Valley Chapter
  • Solano-Napa Chapter
  • Team Godiva – 1st Place Winner
  • Team San Diego

Proceeds from the contest netted nearly $1,500 for the CSEA Education Foundation, and the tricycles were donated to San Diego Rescue Mission. Congratulations to contest winner Team Godiva, and thanks to all entrant and participants for their efforts on behalf of the Education Foundation.

A Murder Mystery Dinner – Fundraising Event

An Elite group of CSEA Members surprised the audience with a Murder Mystery Dinner at the CSEA Member dinner Saturday,  January 10 as an Education Foundation Fundraiser Event. Their brilliant acting and dramatic scenes of "Who Shot Don Santaclausio" made for a wonderful experience for all guests to enjoy.  Who knew CSEA Members were holding out on such talent. The evening was filled with laughter and suspense on what would happen next. The laughter and enjoyment carried on to the next morning, as you could hear CSEA Members talking among themselves about the prior night’s event and how great the Murder Mystery Dinner was.

Tricycle Decorating Contest Makes Tracks

The Tricycle Decorating Contest was truly a hands-on event, as participants gathered together to bring forth their creativity while raising more than $1,000 for the CSEA Education Foundation. Afterwards, the elaborately decorated tricycles graced the hallways during Annual Meeting festivities, and were later donated to a children’s charity. The following Chapters and/or teams participated:

  • Channel Islands
  • East Bay
  • Gutter Girls
  • Mission Chapter
  • North Bay Chapter
  • Orange County Chapter
  • Sacramento Valley Chapter
  • Solano-Napa Chapter
  • Team San Diego
