Representing clients before the State of California is different and with the increasing complexity of California’s tax laws how can you be sure you are prepared? CSEA is pleased to offer the solution by increasing your state representation knowledge with the California State Tax Agencies Representation (CSTAR) workshop.

The three-day CSTAR workshop will give you a unique opportunity to focus attention on real time concerns regarding state taxes and to meet with experts from Franchise Tax Board (FTB) the Board of Equalization (BOE) and the Employment Development Department (EDD) in one convenient location.

CSTAR presents a concise overview of state tax audit collections and appeals policies and procedures. This is an ideal foundation for you to enhance your skills whether you only do occasional representation with the state or representation is an ongoing part of your practice. Participants will receive tips to improve their understanding and competence in taxpayer representation on the state level as well as learning advanced level representation techniques with state tax agencies through actual case study presentations with tax agency personnel.

The CSTAR workshop has been thoroughly updated and revamped to provide a format of mixed instruction that includes theory along with practical application one that engages and supports effective adult learning.
