IRS Stakeholder Liaison focuses on local engagement of the payroll and practitioner community and stakeholder organizations to provide information about IRS policies, practices and procedures to ensure compliance with the tax laws, both by voluntary means and through enforcement programs. Click here to learn more about Stakeholder Liaison. (252,0904) Our specialists work with your professional organizations in a variety of ways to communicate key messages, identify problematic issues affecting practice with the IRS and provide education about IRS programs and procedures. We do this by working with your organizations’ representatives at practitioner liaison meetings, chapter speaking engagements, seminars and phone forums.
Please note that Stakeholder Liaison specialists do not generally address questions about the application of tax law or participate in the resolution of compliance or account issues for specific taxpayers. You should contact the number provided in your correspondence, the individual/business/specialty tax toll free numbers, Practitioner Priority Service, Taxpayer Advocate Service or the appropriate IRS office.
